If you have a reading group for the very young, 2nd grade and under, you might be interested in clicking Loonie Balloonie: the story of a young ghost. It isn't illustrated, so you'll need your own supplemental material for visual aids, but the story is fun and cute and the response of your little ones might make it worthwhile.

A Last Look offers Proofreading, Text Editing, Copyediting, and Rewriting (checking your spelling, typos, punctuation, word choices, grammar, sentence structure, continuity, and style) for Web pages or anything that can be sent as an e-mail attachment.

Many services charge a separate fee for each service; however, the point is that each service takes time, and if you pay me for my time, why should you pay me more for doing one thing than doing another? Yes, it is harder to think of something to write in place of something that is unsuitable, but what is harder to do takes longer; hence we're back at the per hour fee.

With the help of the free estimate, you can judge by the per-word cost whether my service will cost you less or more than someone else's proofreading or copyediting service. What's better is that, when you send the same material to several editors, you can see which one you prefer to work with; that is, you can compare the results and decide which you like best for the money.

I offer free estimates. I will proofread/edit a portion of your project and give you an estimate of how much it will cost you per word for me to finish the project based on the quality of the edit sample and the quality and size of the rest of the project. Sorry, only one free estimate per client.

Services for Proofreaders and Copyeditors

A Last Look is building a network of proofreaders and copyeditors to whom clients can be referred. Such networkers must be tested and thereby certified to be in this network so that the network's quality does not suffer.

For those whose skills are not quite satisfactory, training resources may be provided, both within the network of web sites and by referral to other resources outside the network.
